Mackenzie Announces More Than $2.5 Million in Grant Funding Awarded
HARRISBURG – Rep. Milou Mackenzie (R-Lehigh/Montgomery/Northampton) today announced more than $2.5 million in state funding has been awarded by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) to benefit residents in Montgomery, Lehigh and Northampton counties.
The awards were considered at today’s CFA Board meeting and approved through the Commonwealth’s Small Water and Sewer Program (SWS) and Water Supply, Sanitary Sewer, and Storm Water Projects Program (H2O).
“I am pleased our community has been awarded this much-needed funding. This significant investment will enhance and repair critical components of our local infrastructure,” said Mackenzie. “This is excellent news for residents of the 131st District and a much-needed investment to keep our water and sewer systems working efficiently for the entire community.”
Grant funding was awarded as follows:
Upper Montgomery Joint Authority - $423,576 for lateral lining and rehabilitation in East Greensville and Pennsburg, Montgomery County.
Salisbury Township - $391,000 for water main replacement in the Meadowbrook area of Salisbury Township, Lehigh County.
Salisbury Township - $660,000 for sanitary sewer improvements and rehabilitation in Salisbury Township, Lehigh County.
City of Bethlehem - $750,000 for a 2-million-gallon southwest reservoir replacement at the Bethlehem City reservoir, located in Lower Saucon Township, Northampton County.
Lower Saucon Authority - $300,000 for pump station replacement in Lower Saucon Township, Northampton County.
The CFA was established in 2004 as an independent agency of the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) to administer Pennsylvania’s economic stimulus packages. The CFA holds fiduciary responsibility over the funding of programs and investments in Pennsylvania’s economic growth.
