HARRISBURG – Rep. Milou Mackenzie (R-Lehigh/Montgomery/Northampton) provided the following statement in response to the governor announcing his legislative agenda.
“At the moment the governor should be focusing on ensuring that the Commonwealth is distributing healthcare necessities to our local doctors and hospitals rather than seeking to increase taxes which would negatively affect our already hurting businesses and employees trying to make ends meet,” said Mackenzie. “It’s also imperative that small businesses and our schools remain at the forefront during our budget negotiations over the next several months. Both small businesses and our school districts have had to sacrifice so much because of the current pandemic and continue to need our help and support. As we approach crafting our state budget, it is vital that we do so with a fiscally responsible mindset as the Commonwealth battles with its own economic recovery. I look forward to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle as we look for the best policies that will benefit ALL Pennsylvanians during this process.”
