Mackenzie Hosts Free Medicare Counseling During Open Enrollment

HARRISBURG – Rep. Milou Mackenzie (R-Lehigh/Montgomery/Northampton) is pleased to announce constituents can schedule appointments with a certified PA MEDI counselor at her Bethlehem district office during the upcoming Medicare open enrollment period.

Open enrollment runs from Oct. 15 through Dec. 7. Appointments will begin Tuesday, Oct. 20, at Mackenzie’s district office, 1425 Mountain Drive North, Bethlehem. Appointments are available Tuesday mornings at 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., with additional appointments possible as availability allows.

“Medicare plans can change from year to year, making it important to review your coverage and understand your options,” said Mackenzie. “I encourage residents to take advantage of this free service and meet with a PA MEDI counselor to make sure they have the information they need to make informed decisions about their Medicare coverage.”

PA MEDI counselors are certified volunteers through the Pennsylvania Medicare Education and Decision Insight Program, administered through the Pennsylvania Department of Aging. Counselors provide free, unbiased Medicare information and assistance.

Appointments are available to residents of Lehigh and Northampton counties. Because Medicare plans are county-specific, Montgomery County residents who contact Mackenzie’s office will be connected with a PA MEDI counselor in Montgomery County.

Residents should bring all current medical cards, including their Medicare card, as well as a list of medications and current doctors.
